Liz Earle Energising Body Scrub

I have got the wonderful opportunity to review a product from Liz Earle Skin Care range which is the Liz Earle Energising Body Scrub & before I write my experience with the scrub I would like to share a little bit about the brand Liz Earle.
Liz Earle Naturally Active Skincare is a Great British beauty brand, founded in 1995. Liz Earle team is passionate about all that they do and create products that really work on every skin type by harnessing the potent powers of the finest quality naturally active ingredients.

How was the Liz Earle Team formed?
In 1995, our co-founders Liz Earle and Kim Buckland extended their long friendship into a business partnership. Liz and Kim met at the start of their careers when they both worked together before embarking on different paths within the beauty industry. Liz, through her in-depth research, became a specialist in botanical ingredients, natural health and well being. As a beauty editor, author of over 30 books and TV presenter, she became a well-known and respected authority in these areas. Kim meanwhile, gained vast experience in the management of the manufacture, packaging, retail and marketing of cosmetics.
Kim realised that there was an opportunity for a trusted beauty specialist within the skincare market; for someone with a genuine knowledge of 'naturally active' ingredients to develop a product range and provide expert advice and tips on beauty and health issues. Kim rang Liz and asked her if she had ever thought of launching her own range of products - and the rest is history!

How did their shopping channels evolve
In 1996 the range was launched on QVC, the TV home shopping channel - and their first product sold out within half an hour! In 1998, their Customer Centre and Customer Care team were established on the Isle of Wight. Union, their unique shop opened in Ryde in 2001, with their online shopping website going 'live' in 2002. 2006 saw the opening of their London shop.

Brand Philosophy:

They use mineral sun filters to provide the best broad-spectrum UV protection and to reduce the risk of skin allergy. They  prefer plant oils to mineral oils. They don't use mineral oil, paraffin wax, petrolatum or any fractions of crude oil or primary petro-chemicals.None of our products contain genetically engineered or modified organisms. Their in-house Ethnobotanist supports sustainability and local community growers. Some of their formulations are preservative-free. Alright let's talk about this great body scrub from Liz Earle that I've used

What does Liz Earle claim about this body scrub: This uplifting , invigorating & refreshingly scented Body Scrub exfoliates & cleanses, leaving your skin renewed, revitalized & super-smooth. The naturally active ingredients include specially selected ground Olive stones to exfoliate & remove dead skin cells, with an energising blend of Damask rose flower water & 9 pure essential oils including sweet orange , grapefruit, geranium, peppermint, eucalyptus, rosemary & pine.

Ingredients: Aqua (water), Decyl glucoside, Rosa damascena (rose) flower water, Olea europaea (olive) seed powder, Glycerin, Cocamidopropyl betaine, Acrylates copolymer, Jojoba esters, Tocopherol (vitamin E), Citrus aurantium dulcis (sweet orange) oil, Citrus grandis (grapefruit) oil, Pelargonium odoratissimum (geranium) oil, Mentha piperita (peppermint) oil, Pogostemon cablin (patchouli) oil, Citrus aurantium amara (petitgrain) leaf oil, Eucalyptus globulus (eucalyptus) oil, Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) oil, Pinus cembra sibirica (pine) oil, Citronellol, Geraniol, Limonene, Linalool, Sodium hydroxide, Phenoxyethanol, Aspartic acid, Sodium chloride, Trisodium ethylenediamine disuccinate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Methylisothiazolinone.

Price: £12.75 for 200ml tube

How to use: For best results: massage a generous amount onto wet skin over body using circular movements, paying particular attention to upper arms, hips, thighs and feet.
Not recommended for use on the face, neck or sensitive areas.Rinse off thoroughly.

My Experience: The Energising Body Scrub all come in a pastel sky blue plastic tube with a flip cap. The scrub has these tiny brown & white micro granules of Olive stones which I thought wouldn't effective for scrubbing but to my surprise this scrub provides gentle but effective exfoliation. The fragrance of the scrub is amazing, it smells herbal because of the presence of the pure essential oils & honestly it doesn't smell like the regular scrubs with synthetic smell. Though it has natural ingredients, it produces nice froth like the regular scrubs. The fragrance lingers for a while & eventually fades away. As soon as I finished my bath I touched my skin to see how it feels & it was soft & supple. But if you have extremely dry skin like me you need to use a moisturizer to lock up moisture & let it stay soft.

Pros of the Liz Earle body scrub:
1.Has essential oils which make it smell great & not too overwhelming.
2.Has gentle Olive stones that exfoliate well & are not abrasive at all.
3.Lathers well so works as a shower gel as well as a scrub.
4.After use, the skin feels soft & smooth.
5.The texture of the scrub isn't clumpy.
6. Since I use this once a week, I'm sure this 200ml tube will last for a while.
7.Rinses off easily & doesn't leave a film.
8.Doesn't have SLS.
9. Decently priced.
10. Delivers what it claims! It is an uplifting , invigorating & refreshingly scented Body Scrub that exfoliates & cleanses, leaving your skin renewed, revitalized & super-smooth.

Cons of the Liz Earle body scrub: Although I don't consider this as a con, but people like me who have extremely dry body skin need to use a moisturizer immediately to make the skin stay soft & supple for longer time.

Final Verdict: I like this scrub a lot. This scrub strikes a balance between not being too harsh to the skin and not too gentle to provide effective exfoliation. I'm in love with the fragrance, it smells pure organic & herbal, nothing can beat this! I'm giving the Thumbs Up to the product!
