Online Shopping Experience with violetbag.com
Hello Beauties,
Wanted to share with you all my recent online shopping experience with an Indian website VioletBag.com which was launched few months back.
This website is amazingly & efficiently managed by a group of IIT/IIM graduates.
This is how the website looks
My Take on the website: The website sells products from Indian as well as International brands, you would find products from Indian brands like Lakme, Lotus etc & International websites like Elizabeth Arden, Jennifer Lopez & Yves Saint Laurant, however the products under International brands are mostly for fragrances.
Browsing for the products on this particular site is very easy & hassle free.
Customer Service: As soon I finished placing my order I got an email confirmation within a few minutes with details which includes the Order no, Shipment carrier information etc. & this helps me track my order, I could easily track my order on the carrier website which shows when the shipment is forwarded from the sender location to the delivery location. Since I placed the order around midnight, the next day a very polite & courteous guy from Violet.com called me to inform me that the order has been shipped & it would take 3-5 days for me to receive it.
Shipping & Payment : The website offer free delivery for orders above Rs.250, any order below this amount they charge you flat Rs.50 per order. The shipment is delivered in 3-5 days & honestly they stand by what they say, I received my order on the 3rd day. They accept Credit card, Debit Card, Netbanking, Cash Card & Cash on Delivery(COD).They accept Visa, Master Card, Discover, American Express cards.
Packaging: I just order 3 items, however it was nicely bubble wrapped & packed in a huge card box & delivered, there was no way the things could have got damaged.
Discounts: There is usually 7-10 % discount on the products from what I have seen.
Final Word: From my experience of Indian Online shopping, I have shopped at 99labels, FashionandYou etc, this is by far the fastest delivery( from violet.com). The makeup section has mostly Indian Brands unlike the Fragrance section, so I hope they get lots of other International brands not easily available in India. From the look of the website, I can make out that this is run by youngsters & I amazed at the way they manage it so well, they try to connect with their customers through Facebook & resolve their queries too. I wish them "ALL THE BEST" :))
Received a gift voucher of Rs.1000 to shop from the website.

Lotus Herbals Moist Petals Lipsticks- Red Rover
Hello Beauties,
If you remember in the last week of September, Lotus Herbals introduced 6 trendy new shades of MoistPetals Moisturising Lipcolor as part of their Festive Glam Collection. Click here for the list of the new shades.
Today I would be reviewing the 112 Red Rover shade.
What does the Lotus Herbals claim about these lipsticks: These are 100% vegetarian and ultra moisturizing range of lip colors. Now choose from a range of dazzling colors and get that perfect pout!
Lotus Herbals MOISTPETALS™ lip colours contain botanical extracts of Symphytum Officinale & Plantago Oyata Seeds. These natural ingredients nourish and protect your lips by providing optimum moisture all day long.
With a mild, satin texture, MOISTPETALS™ lip colors come in six new stunning shades of red, peach, pink, purple and browns.
Directions for use
Fill lips with color, working from the corner of the mouth towards the middle. Use a lip liner that is closet in shad to the lipstick color.
Price: Rs.349 INR for 4.2g
My Experience:
From what I have heard & read a Red Lipcolor is classic & never goes out of style.
While red lipstick might sound daring for daytime, it can still look professional if the rest of your makeup is subtle. "With a neutral eye, matte skin and a touch of blush, red lipstick can look phenomenal for day," says makeup artist Napoleon Perdis. Napoleon Perdis is an Australian Make up Artist &the same guy who appears on the Reality TV show "Australia's Next Top Model that's aired on Big CBS love channel in India.
The lipstick comes in a classy red color packaging with the shade name & number at the bottom, the red color packaging kind of makes it very apt for festive season. This color is one of those bright red colors usually picked up by brides, however during the festive time any girl can apply this wearing a traditional outfit. It kind of makes my face look brighter every time I apply this color( I have cool to neutral undertones). However I'm sure it would suit even warmer tones with just a single swipe. I'm glad this is an opaque lipstick because I'm not very fond of sheer lipsticks. I just apply Kohl along with this lipcolor & it makes me looks gorgeous. If I just have snacks this lipstick stays good for 2-3 hours on my lips after which it fades & leaves a nice tint behind, however if you have a full meal, it doesn't stay too long.
Pros of the Lotus Herbals Moist Petals Lipsticks:
1. Creamy & very moisturising, doesn't dry out the lips.
2. Superbly pigmented & opaque.
3. Good staying power of 2-3 hours minimum, will survive if you just have snacks.
4. Nice color to get daring luscious red color on the lips.
5. Contains Botanical Extracts.
6. Doesn't have an over-whelming fragrance to bother you.
7. Affordable.
8. Available in different shades, Red, Purple, Pink, Browns.
Cons of the Lotus Herbals Moist Petals Lipsticks:
1. The shade name in printed on a paper & after a while the paper comes out so if in case you have 2-3 shades of the Moist Petals Lipsticks, you would have to open each lipstick to find the shade you are looking for.
2. I so wish it could survive full meals, but it's always fun to reapply them, you get a chance to do touch up.
3. Since this is opaque, you need to see to it that you exfoliate your lips well because opaque lipsticks feather into cracks & make the fine lines more visible.
Adore it or Abhor it? Definitely adore these because they are super moisturing & hydrating & makes my face brighter every time I apply it.
Product sent by the brand for consideration.

Organoderm Organic Raw Sugar Exfoliator
I have been using the Raw Sugar Exfoliator from Organoderm for sometime now & here's my take on that. Before that a little about how Organoderm came into existence.
Edward Jonas Domanskis a practicing plastic surgeon in Newport Beach, California has worked on the research and development of the Organoderm Skin Care products for over ten years.
The products are in larger sized offerings than the traditional skin care products now on the market to reduce our carbon footprint with less containers in the environment and offer more quality product at an overall less expensive price per ounce to the consumer without impacting efficacy.

Additionally, ingredients selected are harvested in a manner to protect our delicate eco-system, to preserve and sustain natural botanical sources and the surrounding fawn and flora. As a doctor, the amount of harmful chemicals used in skin care was a driving force to present to consumers a line that was composed of the safest and highest nutritional ingredients for skins of all ages and conditions. Organoderm is the first plastic surgeon developed and recommended product group to contain certified organic USDA products and natural bio-active/certified ingredient formulations. All products certified by the Circle of Green are identified as earth/environment/skin friendly. Organoderm also contributes a percentage of all products to Breast Cancer Research in memory of Dr. Domanskis’ grandmother who died from breast cancer and in support of the fight his mother-in-law is now waging against the disease. Organoderm stands for: O organic, natural bio-actives products with outstanding results R recyclable, environmentally conscious packaging G goal to give you the best skin possible A awareness and responsibility for our planet is part of the company’s philosophy N nutrition for healthy, glowing skin O offerings for consumers that are exclusive to Organoderm users D dr. developed, approved, and recommended E education on all aspects of using green products and living green R research ongoing for expanded organic products M money saving product sizes and free recycling program for users Here's the link to the website |

USE: Use in a.m. and p.m. for face and rough flaky body areas such as knees, elbows, feet and heels.
My Experience: The scrub comes in a white colored tub. When I opened the tub, I found the raw cane sugar settled at the bottom & the oil on the top. I had to mix everything using a tooth-pick before I could use it. I used the scrub before bath & could feel my entire body oily because of the presence of the oils like Olive Oil & sweet Orange Oil, Shea Butter etc. The scrub smells more like Orange peel with little hints of Olive Oil as well. The scrub kind of makes the body oily because of the presence of oils, after scrubbing I had to wash my body with a body wash to get rid of the oiliness. I had to cleanse it twice because one wash didn't make the oiliness vanish. I tried this scrub wet under running water, it melts before I could scrub, so a word of caution don't stand under shower & use it. After the wash I could see my skin felt fresh & taut & it got rid of the dead skin & looked moisturised. I didn't feel the need to use a moisturizer after that.
Pros of the scrub:
1. It's a slippy scrub & not pasty or thick which wont be nice when you do the massage.
2. Didn't cause any itchiness or left any scratches on my body.
3. Makes the skin the smooth & supple after bath.
4. Doesn't dry out the skin & makes it look hydrated.
5. Doesn't stain the bathroom.
6. Formulated with naturally bio-active and organic ingredients.
7. The packaging is developed with recyclable components.
8. Ingredients selected are harvested in a manner to protect our delicate eco-system, to preserve and sustain natural botanical sources and the surrounding fawn and flora.
Cons of the scrub:
1. As it has Olive Oil as one of the ingredient, it gives a greasy feel. Had it been Almond Oil it wouldn't be so greasy.
2. Doesn't suit the sensitive skin & can't be used on the face.
3. If the lid isn't properly closed, it will attract ants ;-)
4. Need to use a spatula everytime I need the scrub, otherwise if I dip my fingers & take it out the scrub gets into the nails.
Final Word: I like the way this exfoliator works in getting rid of the dead skin, however the only thing that puts me off is the greasiness ( because of the presence of all the precious oils) after scrubbing which vanishes only after I rub the soap rigorously.
